Respirators must be fit tested after medical evaluation and before initial use. Fit testing must be repeated annually, or sooner, if employees have physical changes that affect the respirator fit (i.e., weight gain / loss). Fit tests are performed using OSHA-accepted quantitative and qualitative protocols and procedures.
